Sculptures in Entrada Park

The City of Santa Fe Arts Commission is pleased to announce the first loaned art exhibit at Entrada Park! By the end of September, three artworks by area artists will be installed in the park for a one year period. At the end of the year, the loans may be renewed or new works placed in the park. We are pleased to finally see artwork displayed in the park following many years of hard work by the community and the City.

For more information, please contact Debra Garcia y Griego, Senior Planner, City of Santa Fe Arts Commission at degarcia@santafenm.gov or via telephone at 505-955-6707.

#1 Blue Acrobat by Elizabeth Rose
  • Steel and bronze
  • 11’6” x 3’6” x 2’6”
  • 300 lbs +
  • From the artist: “Cut and folded steel, powder coated and painted with bronze counterweights.
  • "I was interested in creating a three-dimensional work from a two-dimensional surface, solely by cutting and folding. I wanted a gentle kinetic element in the piece and achieved that with the heavy bronze counterweights."

#2 Red Chair” by DeeAnne Wagner
  • Powder coated metal
  • 120” x 16” x 18”
  • 60 lbs
  • “A bright red metal dining room chair with exaggerated long legs.”
  • “Previous installations required only metal pipes driven into ground for each leg to slide over.”

>  #3 “Blue Bear” by Elizabeth Rose
  • Steel
  • 4’ x 7’3” x 2’3”
  • 200 lbs
  • $6,500
  • The site needs to be large enough to accommodate a “heavy steel triangular base which can be covered with earth, stones, etc.
  • From the artist: “Powder coated steel and paint. This piece was cut with a plasma torch from an 8’ x 4’ sheet of steel. The three-dimensional work was created by solely folding. Welding was only used to attach the piece to the base for safety.
